Mussa: Blames Kachali for court row.The newly appointed president of the People’s Party (PP) Uladi Mussa says he suspects Malawi’s former vice president Khumbo Kachali as being behind the court injunction obtained by some members of the party. On Wednesday, PP officials, Salim Bagus, Cliffer Kondowe, Bornwell Kapatuka, Daniel Kayipa and Zeleso Gomani sought an injunction at Mzuzu High Court restraining Mussa and Kamlepo Kalua from taking positions of acting president and third vice president of the party, respectively.Commenting on the injunction, Mussa said Kachali is behind the mobilization of the officials to get the court order to stop him and Kalua from taking their positions.Kachali: Blamed for the conflicts.“I am not surprised with the injunction because I know honourable Kachali is looking for the same position, he is too jealous with my appointment but am not worried, in politics there is no injunction,” said Mussa. However, Kachali has dismissed the accusations arguing that he has no intention to lead the orange team.“I don’t wish to lead PP as expressed through the opinion of Honourable Mussa, what I want is to see the party grow,” said Kachali.President Joyce Banda appointed Mussa and Kamlepo to fill the leadership vacuum that was created following her exile after May 20 general elections.
