ACCIDENT AROUND MADISI INVOLVING A BUS AND 2 TONR
Around 7am this happened before Madisi trading as you are coming from Lilongwe,
a bus from Tanzania was overtaking a 2 tone white lorry.
The bus collided with the lorry,
inakola the lorry kukaimenyetsa ku mtengo Ndipo yathelatu.
There were 2 people on the 2 tone and the passenger got stuck when they were removing them.
He was bleeding in the head.
But all the 2 (from the 2 tone) are rushed to the hospital
The Tanzania bus called for another bus of the same company and is moving people and goods from the broken bus to the other, to get the people to Lilongwe (as seen on the pictures).
No one on the bus is injured.
The truck which killed six pedestrians on the M1 Road in Mzimba District

Six people died on Friday after a Freightliner heavy truck registration number CK 3103/ CK 4353 , when the driver failed to negotiate a corner due to overspeeding, causing the vehicle to swerve sideways and overturn at Luviri along Mzimba/Jenda M1 road and killing the pedestrians, police have confirmed.
Police said the truck – which was being driven by Christopher Chimbaula – had one passenger on board and was driving from Luwawa Forest carrying offcuts (Zigwagwa).
“Upon arrival at Luviri while descending a steep slope, at the same time negociating a curved road, he lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed vehicle overturned sideways in the process the falling offcuts ended up hitting the pedestrians who were coming from Luviri CCAP Church to their various homes,” said Mzimba police spokesperson Peter Botha.
Botha identified the six who died on the spot as Love Mkandawire aged 13 years from Elia village, Mrs Esther Nkhata aged 22 of village Kaphang’ombe, Gracious Zimba one year old of village Kaphang’ombe and Magret Ndhlovu 58 from village Kasokola all under T/A Mzikubola in Mzimba.
The other two are Mrs Nelia Kachali 53 of village Khenjani and Mrs Kestina Chavula 28 of village Khenjani T/A Mzikubola in Mzimba.
“All died on the spot due to multiple fractures and head injuries,” Botha said.
He said their bodies were taken to Mzimba District Hospital mortuary.
However, the passenger in the truck suffered general body pains and is admitted at Mzimba District Hospital, while the driver is being hunted by the police as he is at large.
The truck got extensively damaged.
Botha urged all drivers to avoid over speeding to avoid similar accidents.
It has been a bad spell for Mzimba District with several accidents claiming many lives, including 22 Malawi Defence Force soldiers who died when a vehicle they were travelling in overturned at Mapanjira on November 1 last year
A girl aged eight has died after being hit by a vehicle in Kasungu district.

Kasungu police station deputy public relations officer Harry Namwaza identified the victim as Austrida Mwela.
Namwaza said the incident occurred on Wednesday along Nkhotakota-Kasungu M18 road after the driver Robert Chazondedwa who was driving a motor vehicle registration number NB 2821 Toyota Mark 11 Saloon from the direction of Mtunthama heading to Kasungu township swerved off the road.
“On arrival at Chitete village near Chitete bridge, due to speeding, he failed to negotiate a curve as a result he went to the extreme offside of the road,” Namwaza said.
The vehicle then hit the young female pedal cyclist who was going in the opposite direction.
Following the impact, the 8 year old girl died on the spot due to a neck injury.
Meanwhile, the driver Robbert Chazondewa is in police custody and has been charged with a traffic offence of causing death by reckless driving.
He will appear before court soon to answer the charge levelled against him.

Reyneck Matemba, on Saturday night survived a road accident with minor injuries when a personal vehicle he was travelling from direction of Salima hit a pothole and overturned, the police said.
The accident happened close to Smallholder Farmers Fertiliser Revolving Fund of Malawi warehouse when Matemba’s Nissan Dualis hit a pothole as he avoided hitting some children who were about to cross the road. causing the overturn, said police deputy spokesperson Thomeck Nyaude.
“In trying to avoid hitting the boys, he swerved to the far right where he hit the pothole following which the vehcle jerked and overturned three times,” Nyaude said.
He added: “ He was treated as an outpatient at the Dae Yung Luke Hospital.”
Matemba also confirmed about the accident and said his personal vehicle is now in total wreck.
According to Matemba he was treated for some tissue injuries to the shoulder and elbow as well as small cacerations on the head from the glass of the windscreen.

Chikwawa police spokesperson Foster Benjamin has said that the man, Shadreck Vitto, has since been admitted to Chikwawa District Hospital battling shoulder and leg wounds.
According to Benjamin, Vitto met his fate on Wednesday afternoon in Maperera River within Lazaro Village in the area of Traditional Authority Makhwira in the district.
“His ordeal comes barely three days after he allegedly stole four goats in the village. He has since been on the run.
“On the fateful day, however, angry villagers searched and pursued him down to the river. Vitto immediately dived into the muddy waters and ended up landing into the jaws of two crocodiles,” Benjamin said.
The victim is said to have fiercely wrestled with the beasts while calling out for help from other well-wishers.
Rescuers came to his help and rushed him to the hospital. He is still receiving treatment.
Vitto comes from Lazaro Village in Traditional Authority Makhwira in Chikwawa District.
