Watchman murdered in Mulanje
Malawi Police in Mulanje district have launched a manhunt for criminals who brutally murdered a 60 year-old man who was guarding a farm in the district.Police are alert. (Library)Mulanje police publicist, Gresham Ngwira, identified the watchman as Moses Buleya who was killed on Friday as he was trying to protect his boss’ goats from the criminals at Venture Farm.The spokesperson said upon invading the farm which is owned by William Frank Inglis, the criminals hacked the watchman in his head and his whole body and he died on the spot.Ngwira said police officers rushed to the scene but they found him already dead, with his body in a pool of blood which was as a result of being harshly hacked with a sharp object.Meanwhile, Mulanje police has since advised all employers in the district to avoid the tendency of employing old people as security guards in order to curb such incidents.Buleya whose body is at Mulanje hospital hailed from Bango Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mabula in the district.
