MP) Albert Thindwa, died on Saturday in Blantyre and will be buried on Thursday in his home village Rumphi, it has been confirmed.
Thindwa was elected on the Democratic
Progressive Party (DPP) tickets but defected to People’s Party (PP) when it came to power only to return to DPP for fear of being affected by the provision of Section 65 of crossing the floor.
DPP administrative secretary Francis Mphepo said Thindwa was Deputy Director of Economic Affairs for the party.
He served Rumphi East from 2009 to 2014 and lost the 2014 tripartite elections to Kamlepo Kalua.
The burial ceremony is expected to be on Thursday 1 March 2018 according to Ezekiel Thindwa, a relative to the deceased.
Thindwa survived by a wife and six children.
Thindwa was also a business tycoon and owns Paramount Private Secondary school and Good Gift Junior academy in Karong
