Webster Kaunda and Sam Mwale, enjoyed a rare reunion when they emerged champions in a team event during a Valentine’s Day Love is in the Air golf tournament on Saturday.

The pair collected 45 points to achieve a top finish. John Suzi Banda and Donbell Mandala came second after collecting 44 points.
Mwale and Kaunda also dominated the individual category.
Mwale, who took over the BSC Golf Section captaincy from Kaunda at the beginning of last year, won the singles event when he was counted in with 37 points. Mwale played of handicap 14.
“This is my biggest win in recent years.
I thank my playing partner for motivating me on the greens,” Mwale said.
Kaunda, playing of handicap 14, ended on second position as he was counted out after also collecting 37 points.
Bashir Shariff, playing of handicap 22, finished third with 36 points.
In individual honours, Gilton Chiwaula hit the longest drive on hole eight.
In subsidiary prizes, Alfred Chikale, Sangwani Hara and Anthony Kasunda were among the golfers that won two clubs.
The tournament attracted a field of 57 golfers.
BSC General Manager, Johnnie Nicolau, said he was impressed with the turn up and pledged a return of the tournament next year.
“From what I have seen, the golfers thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had 57 competitors and we also registered over 90 ladies for the dinner and dance. At Blantyre Sports Club, we believe in a healthy mind and body; so you have to exercise.
“We organised this event to commemorate Valentine’s Day. This is a day of love and sharing, so we are encouraging our members to observe it every year. We had a lot of sponsors who helped us. We have been here for 122 years since 1896. We will return next year b
